Our Mission
The Vizzies were created with a simple but powerful mission: to celebrate and recognize the incredible talent, creativity, and technical skill that goes into stunt pre-visualization.
For too long, the artists behind pre-viz work have remained in the shadows, their contributions essential but often overlooked. We believe it's time to shine a spotlight on these unsung heroes of action filmmaking.
Our goal is to create a platform where stunt performers, coordinators, and filmmakers of all budget levels can showcase their work, gain recognition from peers and industry professionals, and advance their careers.
Why We Started The Vizzies
The idea for The Vizzies was born out of a simple observation: while big-budget productions receive recognition through established awards, the incredible previz work done by talented individuals and small teams often goes unnoticed.
Recognizing All Talent, Not Just Big Budgets
We noticed that many of the most creative and innovative stunt previz were coming from independent filmmakers and stunt teams working with limited resources. These artists were pushing boundaries and creating amazing work, but had no dedicated platform to showcase their talents.
The Vizzies were created specifically to level the playing field, giving recognition based on creativity, execution, and innovation rather than the size of the production budget.
Celebrating the Art of Previz
Previz has become an essential part of modern filmmaking, especially for action sequences. It allows filmmakers to plan complex stunts, optimize resources, and ensure safety while achieving their creative vision.
Despite its importance, previz work rarely receives the recognition it deserves. The Vizzies aims to change that by celebrating this unique intersection of physical performance, technical skill, and storytelling.
Building a Community
Beyond recognition, we wanted to create a community where stunt performers, coordinators, directors, and previz specialists could connect, share knowledge, and collaborate.
